چکیده

The solar neutrino anomaly, measurements discrepant from predictions of the Standard Solar Model, has existed for over 30 years. Multiple experiments measuring fluxes from several reactions in the hydrogen fusion chain have added to the puzzle. Each of the several elements of the enigma are resolved by recognition of measurements establishing that most of the sun’s fusion must occur near the surface rather than the core. 25.40.-h, 95.30.Cq, 95.85.Ry, 96.60.Kx Typeset using REVTEX

Non standard analysis of the solar neutrino anomaly ( updated including the first data from SNO ∗ ) Riccardo Barbieri

Continuing previous work, a model independent analysis of the solar neutrino anomaly is performed in terms of neutrino oscillations, allowing a comparison with the predictions of the Standard Solar Model. SMA and LMA solutions emerge also in this case, although somewhat different from the standard ones. The significance of the NC/CC double ratio measurable in SNO is illustrated in this context.

What can the SNO Neutral Current Rate teach us about the Solar Neutrino Anomaly

We investigate how the anticipated neutral current rate from SNO will sharpen our understanding of the solar neutrino anomaly. Quantitative analyses are performed with representative values of this rate in the expected range of 0.8 − 1.2. This would provide a 5 − 10 σ signal for νe transition into a state containing an active neutrino component. Assuming this state to be purely active one can e...

Exotic Solutions to the Solar Neutrino Anomaly

We analyze the status of the exotic solutions to the solar neutrino problem, i.e., those solutions based on new phenomena which are not the usual neutrino oscillations induced by masses and mixing. These solutions are based on di erent assumptions: a) resonant spinavor precession induced by non-vanishing neutrino magnetic moment, b) the existence of non-standard avor-changing and non-universal ...
